ADVANCE PROVISIONING ALLOWANCE (APA) |
Advance Provisioning Allowance (usually calculated at 25% of the charter fee) is required to cover the extra expenses of the charter. The APA allows the yacht to purchase prior to your embarkation the food, beverage and other requirements that you have specified in your preference sheets, and to pay for the fuel the yacht consumes on charter. It is generally calculated at around 25% of the charter fee, but may in some instances be higher (for example, on high speed yachts that consume a lot of fuel, or if your party has specified particularly expensive wine or champagne). The captain will keep a detailed account of all costs and charges, with receipts, which you are welcome to inspect at any time. If necessary the captain will ask you for additional funds during your charter if your APA is exceeded, but this is rare. At the end of your charter, your captain will present his final accounts and receipts for your inspection and signature. Any outstanding funds will be refunded to you.
